Surrey Doors Open

Surrey Doors Open is a one day event for organizations to invite community members to “discover the story behind every door”. This free event offers fun activities for all ages, behind-the-scenes guided tours, entertainment, fun contests, prizes and more! Almost 5,000 visitors attended last year.

New for 2018

There are 17 new venues featured in Doors Open this year, in addition to 13 returning venues. Come by at 11am to join mayor and council in the official opening of the new South Surrey Operation Centre. You can also stop by the world-class Biofuel Facility ­-­the first of its kind in North America. This is the first time it has ever been open to the public!

Also new to Doors Open, discover the future of LRT at the Surrey Operation Centre. Here you'll get a chance to see the vehicle on display and get a sneak peek into Surrey's transit future.

Capture our City Photo Contest

Post your Surrey Doors Open photos and share your unique stories and experiences on Instagram or Twitter for a chance to win great prizes using #SurreyDoorsOpen or email your photos to doorsopen@surrey.ca. Submissions will be accepted from 11am Saturday June 9, 2018 until 4:59pm on Friday June 15, 2018. Winners will be accounted on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

Transportation

Visit Surrey Doors Open venues on your own, or enjoy the free Hop-On, Hop-Off Shuttle Bus at designated venues in Cloverdale. Services start at 11am and ends at 4pm.

Shuttle Guidelines

Free shuttle buses will be running approximately every 45-60 minutes from the Hop-On, Hop-Off Zone in Cloverdale, Newton and Whalley. Please note that our shuttles cannot accommodate booster seats or car seats for children.

History of Doors Open

Surrey Doors Open inspiration stems from origins in France where the first Doors Open (La Journee Portes Ouvertes) took place in 1984. The idea soon began to spread to neighbouring countries and has since expanded around the globe.
