Amazing Activities, All Month Long

May is a jam-packed month, everyone! Start your month by seeing the new exhibit Worlds of Wonder at Museum of Surrey (which is perfect for kids who love LEGO.) Get outdoors and join over 100 free activities for Environmental Extravaganza with your family and friends. Parents can swing by Positively Parenting Workshops happening at various recreation facilities too. Browse the entire list and have fun in Surrey!

Museum of Surrey | April 24 to September 8
The feature gallery is being transformed this spring in partnership with the VLC, Vancouver's Community for Adult Fans of LEGO. Enter Worlds of Wonder and see existence transform before your eyes into creations made of colourful LEGO® bricks. Which adventure will you choose? Whether nature, technology or history, inspired bricks will tell the story in a way you've never seen before. A tornado built of LEGO®? Yup! Take a walk back in time to see dinosaurs or medieval castles. Even visit the International Space Station - all without leaving Surrey.

Go to a Skate Park

Surrey offers a number of skate parks, and each of them have been designed to offer a variety of tracks and trails to suit all abilities. From the street and plaza terrain at the Cloverdale Youth Park to the flow bowl at the Chuck Bailey, you'll find a level and style that works for you!

We Walk Slowly: A Native and Medicinal Plant Walk
Museum of Surrey | May 4 at 10am to 12pm
"Walk slow" with Deanna Millar as she shares teachings on native and medicinal plants used by her ancestors, Katzie First Nation, on this land. Learn what it means to be stweards of this land and territory.

Positively Parenting Workshops
Various Facilities | May 7 to June 4 at 6pm to 8pm
Learn helpful topics and discussions on parenting. All workshops take place on Tuesday evenings and you're welcome to bring your children.

Birding Walk
Surrey Lake Park  | May 11 at 9am to 11am
Search for birds in the lake, meadow, marsh and forest habitats of this diverse park. The parking lot can only be entered from northbound 152 Street.

Lifeguard Information Session
Surrey Sport and Leisure Complex | May 15 at 6pm to 7pm
Learn how you can get started on a path towards being a lifeguard or aquatic instructor! Find out about the training process and volunteer opportunities. Attendance to the sessions are free but all participants must be ages 10 and older and register online, in person or by phone to secure their spot.

National Lifejakcet Day
Newton Recreation Centre | May 16 at 2pm to 9pm
Make this summer a safe one! Learn everything about water safety, boating safety and how life jackets save lives with free crafts, activities and life jacket fittings. Activities will be held in the lobby and outdoor patio. All ages are welcome to attend this free event.

Inclusive drop in gym time for youth ages 10 to 18 of all abilities. Come with your sibling and/or worker for support and try out different physical and interactive activities.
