Edgewood Park

Sunnyside Saddle Club Park

Edgewood Park is now under construction and closed to the public. Following a hazard tree assessment and arboricultural review, 20 trees were identified to pose a significant public safety concern or will be negatively impacted by necessary grading while constructing the park. 93 new trees are planned to be planted in the park. Construction of some areas of the park will be completed and open to public in late 2020.

About Edgewood Park

Acquired in 1951, this 3.9 hectare (9.6 acres) park served as the location for the Sunnyside Saddle Club for many decades. It is now in the middle of a rapidly growing neighbourhood and will be transformed into the next great neighbourhood park.

The park was designed through a community consultation process including two open houses (November 28, 2017 and May 8, 2018) and a community site meeting on February 3, 2020.

After preliminary project work, collecting feedback from residents, revising the concept plan and finalizing detail design plans, the park is now under construction. Some areas of the park are scheduled to open in late 2020.
