Get Your Feet Wet with Pool Workouts

Although indoor pools don't have fitness equipment, they are still a good place to achieve a solid work out. Look to your local indoor pool for a variety of ways to be active in the water. Try something new and dip your toes into unique fitness routines!

Aquatic Fitness Classes

Water running! Aquafit Zumba! Deep Water Walking! There's plenty of unique water workouts join with your Annual Recreation Passcard. Check out the drop in schedule for a variety of aquatic fitness classes and times offered at six indoor pools. 

Swim Lanes

Did you know five of our six indoor pools have 25m or 50m length swimming lanes? (Newton Recreation Centre doesn't, but it has a fun wave pool!) Perfect your back stroke or butterfly stroke and swim lanes for your next fitness activity. 

Not a Strong Swimmer? Take Swimming Lessons!

Learning to swim is an essential life skill. We have affordable swimming lessons run year-round for all ages and abilities. You can even do private swimming lessons or take family swimming lessons if you feel more comfortable. 

Go to the Gym—then Relax in the Hot Tub, Sauna or Steam Room 

If swimming isn't your thing, that's alright. After your weight room workout, cleanse off at the indoor pool showers and head to the hot tub, sauna and steam room for a relaxing cool down. These pool amenities can give you an extra sweat session after you've worked up a sweat!
