Surrey Seniors Membership Much More than Drop-in Sports

The City of Surrey offers two kinds of membership programs for adults 55+. There is the Senior Services Membership and the Recreation Pass for Seniors.

There are a few differences between the two passes:

Senior Services Membership

Price: $25 annually

Age: 55+

Senior Services Membership includes:

  • access to specific volunteer-led seniors drop-in programs (all programs in Seniors 55+ drop-in schedule);
  • discount pricing on select registered programs and events;
  • discount pricing on bus trips; and
  • discount pricing on 55+ gymnasium drop-in programs.

Senior Services Membership is more than just a discount on recreation programming. It’s a chance for adults 55+ to create life-changing friendships, develop new skills and of course, get out and get active. We all know the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but when you are able to do it with a group of like-minded individuals, you naturally enjoy your time more and want to attend regularly.

Recreation Pass for Seniors

Price: 60-69 years: $392.75 annually / 70+ years: $131.00 annually

Age: 60+ years

The Recreation Pass for Seniors includes:

  • free Seniors Services Membership;
  • access to fitness centre;
  • access to drop-in swimming;
  • access to drop-in skating;
  • access to drop-in fitness classes; and
  • drop-in gymnasium sports.

Both Passes: Drop-in Social and Sports Programs

Both passes have access to a long list of drop-in activities at the recreation facilities in Surrey. Drop-in sports include the very popular pickleball every day at varying facilities, table tennis, ballroom dancing and badminton to name a few.

Besides sports, there are some fun, drop-in social programs that you won’t want to miss! These include Bingo, book group, knitting, live music, vocal practice, writing, wood carvers bridge and more.

55+ Spring programming is now available in the Spring 2019 Recreation Guide.

Programs for Adults

Adults aged 55+ are also welcomed and encouraged to participate in adult programming. This spring there are some really unique programs including Yoga at the Museum, Really Uncoordinated Dancers Program and We Walk Slowly: A Native and Medicinal Plant Walk. View all opportunities in the Rec Guide.
